Grand Tetons and Yellowstone
September 2009, right before the 1st snow and during a major fire in Yellowstone, I went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park in search of photographic opportunities of fall color and unusual shots of geysers.

Grand Canyon
In May of 2008, my friend, Mark Vann, and I traveled out west for a five day photo tour of the west. We spent a full day at the Grand Canyon. This included staying way past sunset on an overlook and shooting very long exposures under pure moonlight.

Monument Valley
In May of 2008, my friend, Mark Vann, and I traveled out west for a five day photo tour of the west. We spent two days at Monument Valley. The light during sunrise and sunset was stunning. We had wished that we had some clouds, but this was not the monsoon season. However, we did get some stunning photos. Here are some of mine.

Mt. Rogers National Recreational Area
On the way home to Tennessee from a quick camping trip in Shenandoah National Park, we visited Mt. Rogers National Recreational Area. Mt. Rogers is the tallest peak in Virgina at 5,729 feet above sea level. The hike to the top from the nearest road is said to be 3 hours. However, it's cousin, Mt. Whitetop is almost as high and we where able to get near the top via a fire road. The light wasn't agreeable except for a 5 minute period, in which I was able to shoot a few. Here is my favorite.

Smokey Mountains
My friend Mark and I went camping at caves cove in 2008, hoping to catch the color of the season. It was foggy, raining, and the leaves had mostly fell. However, the conditions was perfect for shooting cascades.
